Candle care

A candle poured by hand behaves differently from a factory one.

First burn

Let the top layer melt fully across the whole surface — 1.5 to 2 hours. This sets the memory of the wax and prevents tunnelling.

Trim to 5 mm before each burn. A wooden wick is trimmed with your fingers once it has cooled.

Never leave a burning candle unattended, keep it away from drafts, children and animals. Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time.

Wash the ceramic bowl or glass with warm water and keep it — it is made to outlive the candle.

Hand wash at 30°, do not tumble dry. Embroidery keeps its colour through washing.
